This year, Google My Business has launched a brand new feature, that allows businesses to set their holiday hours in advance. Prior to this new release, you had to change your hours on the specific day you required, then change it back again after the day had passed.
This can be set up directly from your Google My Business account., by going to the Location page and editing each date you want to modify, individually, as shown below:
You can get to you Google My Business by clicking this link (https://www.google.com/business/) and signing in with your Google Account. From here, you go to the Location page and edit each date that you want to modify, individually, as shown below:
- Once you have tapped the location from the menu, you will be directed to the “Location details” page- scroll down and click in the “Special hours” section:
- Choose the specific date (e.g. 25/15/15), when the special hours are in effect and enter the opening and closing times for that day. Click the box next to “Closed” if your location is closed all day. Click Add another to add special hours to a different date.
- For two sets of special hours on the same day, enter them in separate rows. For example, if your business is open for a period in the morning, closes for lunch and reopens in the afternoon, enter these special hours in two rows.
When you’ve finished entering all of your special hours, click Apply. Your special hours will appear to customers on Google Search, only for the designated days.
