It happens time and time again that clients get lost by the directions in Google’s emails to accept an invitation to a new AdWords account. This should be a very straight forward process, but it can lead to some confusion and some clients somehow end up opening a new AdWords account rather than gaining access to the one intended.
To help insure that our clients don’t experience any problems when accepting an invite to their new AdWords account we have broken this process down into a handy step by step guide.
Step 1.
Once we have created your AdWords account we will send you an email inviting you to join the account so that you have full access.
(Just to note – previously the email address you want to associate with your new AdWords account couldn’t be associated with any other AdWords accounts. However, as of January 2017, it is now possible to grant someone access to an AdWords account on an email address that is already associated with another AdWords account. – See screenshot below).
When you receive our email invite, click the link in this email.
Step 2.
This is where people get lost.
If you have a Google account you can use these log in details, as below:
However, if you don’t use any Google services, you’ll need to set up a new Google account to be associated with that email. This is a relatively straightforward process that can be completed in one easy step, as demonstrated below.
Step 3.
It is important to take note of the Google email address and password you used or created in Step 2 as this will now be the email address through which you’ll be able to access your new AdWords account. When the process is complete you’ll see the below message:
Congratulations!
You have now completed all the steps!
Now that you have full access to your new AdWords account you can view your online campaigns. For advice regarding how to best manage your account, do not hesitate to contact us.

Just forwarded this to someone to help them through the process. Thanks for posting.
